USA, ca. 1943. A pair of open frame lounge chair by Jens Risom for Knoll. Of recent manufacture, each features solid walnut construction with durable woven black cotton webbing seat and back. Utilizing limited wartime materials, Risom began collaborating with Hans Knoll in 1941, while still in his early 20s. The original chairs featured offcast wood and discarded nylon webbing from parachute factories. Comfortable, classically modern, and in mint condition.
