USA, ca. 1950s. A rare pair of ceramic table lamps by Jane & Gordon Martz for Marshall Studios of Veedersburg, Indiana. Each features tapered cylindrical body with light gray glaze and walnut neck. Signed with original walnut finials. White paper shades included. Condition is excellent.

A true family affair, Jane & Gordon Martz met at Alfred University, where they both studied ceramics. Jane’s parents owned and operated Marshall Studios, which her grandmother started in 1922. Together, the Jane and Gordon embraced modern and offered a dignified product line that perfectly complimented the style’s furniture.
